Ariel Vromen to helm 'Snowdrops'
Stone Village has drawn on "The Iceman" director Ariel Vromen to evolve and helm A.D. Miller's Moscow-set drama "Snowdrops." Stone Village topper Scott Steindorf will produce using the banner's Dylan Russell and Scott Lastaiti professional creating. "Snowdrops," released this past year, focuses on an english lawyer employed in Moscow in early 2000s among a good amount of oil money, corruption, decadence, violence, and unfaithfulness. Complications ensue when he rescues two siblings from the would-be purse snatcher, falls deeply in love with one of these and it is requested to assist thier aunt get a new apartment."It is a great story concerning the dislocation from the elderly in Russia," Vromen told Variety.It is the third project setup at Stone Village with different Russia-set novel. It is also developing an adaptation from the novel "Amphibian Guy" compiled by Alexander Beliaev and first released in Russia in 1928, and the other on "The Actual and Margarita" compiled by Mikhail Bulgakov, released in 1967.Vromen is within pre-production on indie actioner "The Iceman," the real story of mob killer Richard Kuklinski, starring Michael Shannon. Vromen is pointing from the script he co-authored with Morgan Land, according to Anthony Bruno's book "The Iceman: The Real Story of the Cold-Blooded Killer" and interview footage.Nu Image/Millennium Films and Bleiberg Entertainment are creating "The Iceman."Stone Village can also be creating and financing "Carnaval," starring John Cusack and Johnny Knoxville and shooting in South america in The month of january. HSI Films is repping "Carnaval" in the American Film Market. Vromen is repped by ICM.
