Follow-up to Angelina Jolie's 'Wanted' Progresses With Familiar Screenwriters
Universal/Courtesy Everett Collection Derek Haas and Michael Brandt feel Wanted once more. The screenwriting duo are actually attracted onto work on Wanted 2 for Universal, that's developing the follow-up for the hit action movie starring Jennifer Aniston and James McAvoy. The 2008 movie, directed by Timur Bekmambetov, required it's origin from the comic small-series by Mark Millar and J.G. Manley and devoted to some disillusioned office manager who discovers his father was part of a secret society of super-human assassins. Brandt and Hass written the screen story and shared screenwriting credits with Chris Morgan. The film made $341 worldwide, so that it wasn't extended before Universal put a follow-up into development. But obtaining a story shown harder to break into. Morgan was commissioned to use round the project in november 2008. This Past Year, Evan Spiliotopoulos was triggered board just before the project quietly faded away. Now Haas and Brandt will move the Wanted 2 needle forward, based on Spiliotopoulos' work. Marc Platt is creating alongside Bekmambetov. Jim Lemley, Ken Levin and Jason Netter will also be creating. Rob Kirschenbaum and Anikah McLaren are controlling the job for that studio. Haas and Brandt written the arrival Richard Gere political thriller The Double, which marks Brandt's directorial debut. The duo also written The Courier, the arrival crime thriller starring Mickey Rourke and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. They are repped by WME, Industry Entertainment and attorney Adam Kaller.
